Abstract Objective：To investigate the plasma levels of adiponectin and resistin in asymptomatic hyperuricemia subjects，and to compare with those of healthy subjects matched for age and body mass index（ BMI）.Method：39 patients with asymptomatic hyperuricemia and 39 healthy subjects were studied. The plasma levels of adiponectin and resistin were determined by ELISA.Result：Plasma resistin levels in hyperuricemia subjects was significantly higher than that of healthy subjects[（4.16±1.95）μg/mL vs（ 13.37±5.10）μg/mL，P<0.01]，while adiponectin plasma levels in hyperuricemia subjects was significantly lower than that of [（12.53±4.28）ng/mL vs（ 5.93±3.71）ng/mL，P<0.01].The former were negative correlation with blood uric acid level， while the latter positively.Conclusion：The findings suggest that asymptomatic hyperuricemia patients have significantly higher resistin plasma levels and significantly lower adiponectin plasma levels than that of healthy subjects.Hyperuricemia may participate metabolic syndrome process.
