Abstract Objective:To investigate the clinical outcome of posterior Trans-articular V shape osteotomy way for kyphosis secondary to thoracolumbar fracture in elderly. Method:18 elderly patients with thoracolumbar kyphosis caused by delayed osteoporotie vertebral fracture were treated by transpedicular wedge osteotomy or trans-articular V shape osteotomy.Result:Cobb angle was 2.8° in average. and before operation Cobb angle was 12.1° in average.All cases were followed up for 8 months to 26 months(average,14 months).There was no instrument related complication. The back pain was released in both cases after receiving this treatment. Conclusion:Posterior trans-articular V shape osteotomy way for kyphosis secondary to thoracolumbar fracture in elderly is effective and reliable.
