													     		                            						                            																	    Abstract  Objective:To investigate clinical efficacy analysis of long-term use of finasteride in benign prostatic hyperplasia.Method:80 patients with BPH,who were diagnosed from June 2007 to August 2009 in our hospital were chosen.Every patient was obtained 5 mg finasteride per day,and was followed up at least 5 years.After and before control was chosen,and frequencies of nocturia,prostate volume in finger exam and B ultrasound,serum creatine,complete blood count,Ru,Qmax,PSA,adjusted PSA and IPSS were noted.Result:Serious side effects of treatment was not observed.Compared to pretreatment,frequencies of nocturia,Qmax,IPSS increased,prostate volume in B ultrasound,platelet,haemoglobin,Ru decreased,whose differences were significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Finasteride can decrease prostate volume,improve urodynamics functions and increase IPSS,serious side effects in long-term use do not occur.So it is worthy of clinical promotion.
