Abstract Objective：To investigate the clinical effects of very low birth weight children given the gravity-fed and nonnutritive sucking and nursing interventions for newborn massage.Method：From January 2013 to January 2014 period，our hospital neonatal treated 62 cases of very low birth weight children were randomly divided into two groups，31 patients were given conventional treatment intermittent gastronomic feeding（ conventional group），The remaining 31 patients were given the gravityfed，non-nutritive sucking，touching nursing intervention therapy（ study group），compared to its clinical effects.Result：The group of children with a gastronomic tube indwelling time was（ 11.30±6.83） d，recovery time of birth weight（ 7.64±3.55） d，a sufficient amount of entrant feeding time（ 11.62±6.45） d，length of hospital stay for（ 24.42±11.05） d.Gastronomic tube indwelling time children in the control group was（ 15.72±7.79） d，recovery time of birth weight（ 12.45±3.80） d，a sufficient amount of entrant feeding time（ 15.41±6.52） d，hospitalization time（ 35.68±17.82） d. Indicators of childminders time in the observation group were significantly shorter than children in the control group，the difference was statistically significant（ P<0.05）.There were 5 children in the observation group（ 16.13%） in children with vomiting cases，6 patients（ 19.35%） were abdominal distension，4 patients（ 12.90%） were gastric residual，2 children（ 6.45%） with respiratory cases suspended.There were 16 children（ 51.61%） in the control group and vomiting in children cases，15 patients（ 48.39%） were abdominal distension，14 infants（ 45.16%） gastric residual，11 cases（ 35.48%） of children with breathing pauses.Feeding children was not tolerated in the observation group was significantly lighter than the control group of patients，the difference was statistically significant（ P<0.05）. Conclusion：Very low birth weight children given the gravity-fed and non-nutritive sucking and massage combined with newborn care interventions can effectively alleviate the situation of feeding intolerance，thereby improving the prognosis，protect the healthy growth of the patient.
