Abstract Objective：To study the influence of baicalein on proliferation in laryngeal cancer cell Hep-2 in vitro.Method：Hep-2 cells were exposed to baicalein at concentrations from 10 to 80μmol/L， cultured for 24 h or 48 h.MTT was used to determine cell proliferation，trypan blue exclusion experiments was used to evaluate cell viability，acridine orange（AO）fluorescence staining was used to determine the effect on the cell morphology. Result：Baicalein could inhibit the proliferation of Hep-2 cells in a time-and dose-dependent manner.The viability was down regulated by baicalein.AO fluorescence staining showed that the cell morphology was changed by baicalein significantly. Conclusion：Baicalein can inhibit the cell proliferation，viability and induce apoptosis in typical morphology of laryngeal cancer Hep-2 cells significantly.
