Abstract Objective： To analyze the damage control in application on attendance of orthopedic critically patients.Method： 80 orthopedic critically patients from October 2012 to October 2013 in our hospital， were random divided into observation group and control group with 40 cases in each group， the control group was treated with conventional nursing， the observation group was treated with nursing which according to the different stages of damage control surgery，the hospitalization time and curative effect was compared between the two groups. Result： The hospitalization time of the observation group was（ 8.6±1.9） weeks， which was shorter than（ 11.6±2.1） weeks of the control group， there were statistically significant differences（ P<0.05）. The complication rate， disability rate and mortality rate of the observation group was lower than that of the control group， there were statistically significant differences（ P<0.05）. Conclusion： DCO nursing can reduce the complication rate， disability rate and mortality rate effectively， to promote the recovery of patients， and has worthy of clinical application.
