Abstract Objective: To study the relationship of between depressive symptoms and occupational stress of the medical staff. Method: The differences of the gender, age, marital status, education level, job, night shift situation,weekly working hours, welfare satisfaction and doctor-patient relationship of 758 cases of medical staff were compared by questionnaire analysis. The relationship of medical staff between depressive symptoms and occupational stress was analyzed by Logistic regression analysis. Result: 422 cases among the 758 cases of medical staff showed depressive symptoms, and the detection rate of depressive symptoms was 55.67%. There were significant differences in medical staff among the age,marital status, position, the night shift, weekly working hours, welfare satisfaction and doctor-patient relationship by the single factor analysis, the differences were statistically significant( P<0.05). By Logistic regression analysis, there was a close correlation among high pay-high returns, low pay-low returns, high cost-low returns and depressive symptoms,the differences were statistically significant( P<0.05).The higher of the tension degree, and the release rate of depressive symptoms were the bigger. Conclusion: There were a close relationship in medical staff between depressive symptoms and occupational stress.Effective prevention and control measures formulated could obviously reduce the incidence rate of mental depression in medical staff,improve medical efficiency and reduce the occurrence of medical disputes cases.
