Abstract Objective:To study the curative effect, living quality and side effect of body-gamma knife radiotherapy in treating with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer.Method:The clinical data of 58 non-small lung cancer patients who were treated with rotary body gamma knife in our hospital from October 2004 to March 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.Result:All the 58 cases completed the treatment on schedule. The recent complete remission rate of the primary lesion was 56.8%,partial remission rate was 20.7% and the stability rate was 1.7%.The overall response rate was 79.3%.The survival rates of 1,2 and 3-year after the treatment were 86.2%,75.9% and 67.2%.3 years after the treatment, there were 23 cases with neoplasm local recurrence and metastasis.19 cases died, among them,12 cases died of recurrence and metastasis and 7 cases didn’t die of neoplasm. The amount of patients with anxiety, expiratory dyspnea and cough after the treatment were less than before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The complications of radiotherapy were less,24.1%(14/58) of the patients were with radiation pneumonitis,13.7%( 8/58)of the patients were with radiation esophagitis and 15.5%(9/58) of the patients were with stage Ⅰ leucopenia. Conclusion:With good sort-term effects and survival rate, less radiotherapy complications,body-gamma knife is an useful and safety nonsurgical treatment in treating with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer.
