Abstract The pathogenesis of pterygium is unclear.The current treatment is mainly focused on the operation，but the high postoperative rate troubled the doctor.In order to reduce the recurrence rate，the ophthalmic researchers at home and abroad engaged in a lot of research such as surgical procedures，physics therapy and drug therapy. The purpose of this review is to summarize the clinical treatment so as to offer the theoretical foundation and new direction of thinking.
